According to Taiwanese media outlets, on the 9th March, Darren Wang allegedly sought the help of a notorious gang leader to recover money owed to his girlfriend, former broadcaster Mu Xuan, further entangling himself in a web of criminal activities.

Mu Xuan reportedly fell victim to an investment scam, losing 4 million TWD (approximately approximately 126,000 USD). Although she won a lawsuit against the perpetrator, he was imprisoned without returning the money. In an effort to recover the funds, Wang allegedly turned to Xiao Yazhun, the leader of Taiwan’s infamous Sihai Gang, asking him to pressure the scammer’s family into paying the debt. Xiao Yazhun is accused of bribing a prison officer to send intimidation messages to the perpetrator’s family. Initially, the family refused responsibility, but after receiving repeated warnings, they provided personal information. However, they ultimately refused to pay any additional money, stating that they had already settled a significant portion of the perpetrator’s debts.

This incident is not the first time Wang has been linked to Xiao Yazhun. Reports suggest that their acquaintance began with an attempted murder case connected to a violent altercation last year. In April, Wang allegedly got into a dispute with an Uber driver over dissatisfaction with his driving. Enraged, he reportedly paid a wealthy friend 30,000 TWD (approximately 945 USD) to obtain the driver’s personal information. After acquiring the details, Wang is said to have contacted Xiao Yazhun, who then dispatched three men to physically assault both the Uber driver and employees of the Uber company.

Seungri’s Shocking Update

The violent attack might have remained undiscovered had it not been for a separate investigation into Wang’s alleged military service evasion. Taiwan enforces mandatory military conscription, and Wang allegedly attempted to dodge enlistment by obtaining a fake medical certificate that falsely diagnosed him with a severe heart condition. Authorities arrested Wang as part of their investigation into fraudulent exemptions and confiscated his phone. During a forensic inspection, prosecutors reportedly discovered videos of the Uber driver assault, leaked prison documents, and messages suggesting collusion between gang members and corrupt prison officials. These findings have expanded the scope of the investigation, raising concerns about organized crime infiltration within the prison system.

Darren Wang, best known for his roles in “Our Times” and “Fall in Love at First Kiss,” is also widely recognized as a close friend of former BIGBANG member Seungri.

Seungri was a central figure in South Korea’s infamous Burning Sun scandal, which involved crimes such as prostitution mediation, sexual assault, drug distribution, embezzlement, and habitual gambling. Despite serving his sentence, Seungri has shown little sign of remorse. Reports indicate that he has resumed socializing with wealthy investors and frequenting upscale restaurants, often in the company of women, raising concerns that he may be returning to a controversial lifestyle.

As Wang’s alleged criminal activities continue to come to light, public outrage is growing. Many are drawing parallels between Wang and Seungri, pointing out that both figures have been repeatedly linked to violent crimes, corruption, and unethical behavior.

What initially appeared to be a personal dispute over a financial matter has now escalated into a multi-layered criminal investigation, spanning organized crime, violent assaults, and military fraud. With authorities intensifying their probe, it remains to be seen whether Wang will face further legal consequences for his actions.
